In light of the Government's increased emphasis on IOSHA and OSHA
regulation enforcement and record fines for non-compliance, C.R. Electric is constantly
reviewing and updating our safety programs and job site procedures in order to be
compliant with IOSHA and OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards.
Do not take for granted that contractors you hire are IOSHA and
OSHA compliant, because safety standards are frequently changing and contractors must
review their safety programs and procedures on a regular basis to ensure compliance.
Since IOSHA and OSHA warnings and monetary fines can be levied on
building owners or general contractors besides the non-compliant contractor, it gives
incentive to the project manager to consider the safety programs and procedures for all
it's contractors on a job site. This can safeguard a project from unnecessary schedule
delays and possible monetary fines for contractors who are non-compliant.
At C.R. Electric, we have an excellent record for IOSHA/OSHA safety
compliance. We take the time necessary to review new IOSHA/OSHA regulations in order to
update our safety program and jobsite procedures. Many times these new regulations require
employee training as well as the purchase of required safety equipment. For example, C.R.
Electric is compliant with OSHA requirements for "Confined Space Work". The
safety qualifications for this type of work require special rescue gear to be on-site, and
additional safety training for employees.
C.R. Electric, provides, at no cost to employees, first aid and CPR
training which also includes annual re-certification. In addition, we at C.R. Electric are
committed to having all of our field supervision personnel attend the OSHA 10 hour class
for Construction Safety and Health. At present, over 75% of our field supervisors have
attended this class, and the remaining supervisors are scheduled to attend before December
of 1999.
